Cuban Missle Crisis vs Nuclear Subs

In a recent game:
Headline Phase
USSR: Cuban Missle crisis
US (me): Nuclear Subs

My questions is if the proper influence is removed at any time during the turn, do I then get the advantage from Nuclear subs, or is it rendered null and void in the headline phase?

The way we played it: in AR1 I added influence to Turkey and then removed it right away, thus ending the CMC.  We then agreed that nuclear subs kicks in and I used it coup a battleground country later in the turn.

thanks,
Chris

That sounds right to me. Cuban Missile Crisis would not negate the effect of Nuclear Subs. You played it right.
