TS for 4?

Hello everyone!
I been a fan of TS for last 2 years, and still mastering the game.
However one thing always bothered me that TS only a 2 player game. Our group usually gathers with 4 or more people to play board games, and TS always left in the cold cause we can't play it together.

However recently someone told me that once he played a game that has TS like mechanics, with card driven events, and influence placing over the map etc, unfortunately he could not remember the game's name.

Any ideas?

thanks!

Or it could be Divided Republic, a game about the presidential election that preceded the American Civil War.

Based on the thread title, I was hoping to find house rules for playing TS with 4 players! My gaming group has been asking about possible houserules for this, although none of our invented mechanics has been playtested much.

Just buy a second board and do a round robin tournament ... that's what my group of four did a couple weekends ago.
